Monica Chiarini Tremblay is a professor of business at William & Mary's Raymond A. Mason School of Business. Before joining William & Mary, Dr. Tremblay was the Information Systems and Business Analytics Department's department chair at Florida International University School of Business. While at FIU, she received the university-wide Top Scholar award and multiple service and teaching awards. At William & Mary, the MSBA program presented her the Best Professor Award (2018-2019).

Professor Tremblay has a broad set of research interests in information systems. Her primary focus is design science research (DSR) in information systems (I.S.) and healthcare informatics. Other areas of concentration include conceptual modeling, data quality, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and health I.T., all within the context of complex societal problems, such as health disparities and foster care.

Over her career, Dr. Tremblay has published 20 peer-reviewed articles, two book chapters, one book, and one edited volume. Of those peer-reviewed articles, four have been published since 2017 and include the top-ranked journal MIS Quarterly. Her publications include MIS Quarterly, Journal of the Association for Information Systems, Decision Sciences, European Journal of Information Systems, Decision Support Systems, ACM Journal of Data Quality. Her research has received 996 citations. In addition, she has presented her work at numerous academic and practitioner conferences and events.

Dr. Tremblay served as a permanent member of the study session for the Health Information Technology section of Agency Healthcare Research Quality (National Institute of Health). She served as the co-editor in chief of Journal of Information Technology Theory and Application(JITTA), a senior editor Production and Operations Management Journal (POM), an associate editor Decision Sciences Journal (DSJ), an associate editor Health Systems and is on the editorial board of the Journal of the Association for Information Systems (JAIS) and the Journal of Business Analytics. She recently served as a senior editor of a special issue of Information Systems Research.

Dr. Tremblay is the past president of the Association for Information Systems Special Interest Group on Healthcare.

Dr. Tremblay serves on a large number of conference editorial boards, including chairing panels and conferences. Dr. Tremblay is on the Board of Directors for a nonprofit Evident Change and serves as secretary. Before her academic career, Dr. Tremblay worked as a systems analyst at Exxon Mobil. She is fluent in Spanish and Italian.
