Marie Halvorsen-Ganepola is a section lead for William & Mary’s Online MBA program and formerly an operations manager for Pearson Government Solutions. She has professional experience as an instructor and tutor for Kaplan Test Prep and Admissions, and as a management consultant for an entrepreneurial real estate firm. Marie is passionate about teaching Principles of Management courses. Her research interests include willpower, personality, intelligence, resilience, and positive organizational scholarship.

Marie’s personal interests include travel, especially to Sri Lanka and U.S. national parks; music including musical theater, choral and liturgical singing, opera, classical, and Neil Diamond; and reading, specifically in the genres of biography, philosophy of science, historical fiction, travelogue, natural history, classic novels, epic fantasy, sci-fi, short story, memoir, and personal essay.
