Chris Gottfried is a member of the faculty at William & Mary, serving as a finance section leader in the Mason School of Business and the director of the corporate compliance program at W&M School of Law. He is an accomplished banker, attorney and compliance officer with over 15 years of experience in the financial services industry.

In addition to his faculty positions, Chris is the chief compliance officer at Hopscotch Labs Limited, a digital assets trading company headquartered in the U.K. Much of his work focuses on the intersection of regulatory compliance and operational risk, building compliance programs and working with government regulatory agencies. Past clients include McKinsey & Co., Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan Chase, BNP Paribas, Raymond James, Truist and Bank of America.

Chris obtained his JD and MBA from William & Mary and his BA in economics from Wake Forest University.
