K. Scott Swan is a professor at William & Mary’s Raymond A. Mason School of Business. He has lectured internationally throughout Europe and Asia, and was awarded the 2015-2016 Hall Chair Fulbright in innovation and entrepreneurship in Central Europe at WU in Vienna, Austria, and the University of Bratislava in Slovakia. He currently serves as head of marketing at the business school and was instrumental in the start of the school’s Innovation and Design Studio. He teaches classes related to export management, international marketing, entrepreneurship, and strategy.

His research and publications have appeared in leading management and international business journals. His primary interests are in innovation and product design. Scott also serves on the board of two journals related to product development, management and design: The Design Journal and the Journal of Product Innovation Management along with authoring three books on these subjects.

Additionally, he has conducted economic impact studies for the Virginia Port Authority, Norfolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority, Union Mission, Virginia Maritime Association, and Governor’s Report for Virginia’s Housing Policy Advisory Board. Furthermore, he worked in project management for Flour-Daniel and marketing management for Foremost Corporation of America, and founded several small businesses related to design.
