Ken Deans, a section leader at William & Mary’s Raymond A. Mason School of Business since 2019, has been teaching key MBA program courses, including BUAD 5227: Integrated Technology and BUAD 5967: Revolutionary Leader, which serves as the program’s capstone. With over 35 years of experience in healthcare, technology and education—including over 20 years in C-level roles—Dr. Deans currently serves as the president and CEO of Health Sciences South Carolina (HSSC), the nation’s first statewide biomedical and health research organization. His prior roles included vice president and COO of Chesapeake Regional Healthcare and VP/CIO of the same organization before that. He has also served as VP/CIO of Bassett Healthcare in New York and has held various leadership positions at Greenwich Hospital in the Yale-New Haven Health System in Connecticut.

Dr. Deans holds a doctor of health administration from the Medical University of South Carolina, an MBA from William & Mary, and a bachelor of science from Excelsior University. He is also a graduate of the Executive Nonprofit Leadership Program at Harvard Kennedy School.

Outside his professional life, Dr. Deans is an avid outdoor enthusiast who enjoys boating, hiking and traveling.
