Ken Deans is a section leader and a graduate of the inaugural cohort of the Online MBA program at William & Mary’s Raymond A. Mason School of Business. He is also a graduate of the Executive Nonprofit Leadership Program at Harvard Kennedy School, John F. Kennedy School of Government in Massachusetts.

Ken is the president & CEO of Health Sciences South Carolina (HSSC), the nation’s first statewide biomedical and health research organization. Before joining HSSC, Ken served in the capacity of vice president/chief operating officer of Chesapeake Regional Healthcare, a not-for-profit healthcare system located in Chesapeake, Virginia, and previously as their VP/CCO & CIO. He also served as the VP/CIO of Bassett Healthcare and in various technical management and leadership capacities including director of technology at Greenwich Hospital, a member of the Yale-New Haven Health System in Connecticut.

Ken also serves on several boards and councils including the South Carolina Research Foundation’s Board of Directors, South Carolina’s EPSCoR State Committee, Harvard Business Review’s Advisory Council, and Forbes' Nonprofit Advisory Council. He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Trustees (ACHT) and is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), the College of Health Information Management Executives (CHIME), and the Health Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS).
