Harris Ligon is a section leader and a recent graduate from the inaugural cohort of the Online MBA program at William & Mary’s Raymond A. Mason School of Business. Over the years, he has completed additional graduate coursework in applied psychology and logistics at Appalachian State University, Old Dominion University, and Northwestern University.

He currently leads the marketplace solutions function at Uber’s newest venture, Uber Freight. In his current role, Harris leads a subset of post-sales strategic processes. His oversight of business process improvement and joint commercial and operational analyses enable customers to gain both macro and micro insights on the market as well as their own behavior. Additionally, he partners with product, software and operations teams to create automated logistics solutions.

Prior to Uber, Harris spent nearly 10 years in the railroad industry. Over that time period, he led various teams in operations, law, sales, and marketing. At Norfolk Southern, he leveraged his deep knowledge of surface transportation to successfully develop the highest impact line of business. During his time there, he utilized design thinking to create a new customer experience as well as engineer a new commercial forecast process, both of which enhanced accuracy, transparency and, ultimately, the user experience.
