Gabriele Lingenfelter earned her MBA from Northwest Missouri State University and her B.S. in Accounting from Cameron University. She is the recipient of the prestigious Elijah Watt Sells award for her performance on the CPA exam. After 28 years, Ms. Lingenfelter retired in 2021 from full-time teaching at the university level. Her most recent teaching experience included courses in auditing, IFRS, financial and managerial accounting, and case studies in accounting. She also has experience working in the non-profit area and seasonal tax preparation.
Ms. Lingenfelter has published articles in the Delaware Journal of Corporation Law and Southern Law Journal and has published numerous case studies. She has also been a frequent contributor to Disclosures, the official publication of the Virginia Society of CPAs (VSCPA).
Ms. Lingenfelter has held various volunteer positions with the VSCPA, including being a member of the board of directors and, most recently, the 150-hour task force, which made a recommendation to the Virginia Board of Accountancy regarding the 150-hour requirement to sit for the CPA exam. Additionally, she has served on the AICPA Audit and Attestation Subcommittee, the AICPA Financial Accounting and Reporting Subcommittee, and the AICPA Task-Based Simulation task force.
