GCMC Career Advising & Education

The GCMC offers a wealth of resources to help you to advance your career, transition to a new role, and improve your business relationships and networking skills, all with the goal of developing your leadership success and executive presence.

Career Advising: Partner with a GCMC counselor (virtually or in person) for one-on-one advising, and learn about possible career paths, develop a job search strategy, build your understanding of personal branding, write a targeted resume, effectively prepare for interviews and even get help negotiating active job offers.

Classes and Workshops: A variety of classes and workshops, largely focused on interviews, job searching, social media and other career skills are provided throughout the academic school year. Workshops may include interviewing techniques, job fair preparation, resume writing, industry-specific corporate information sessions and more. These sessions are often live-streamed and/or recorded, and they are accessible through the Raymond A. Mason School of Business and GCMC YouTube channels.

Job Search Tools: MASONlink is the overarching career management information system for the GCMC. Access MASONlink to schedule appointments with your career counselor, search for employment opportunities, access the Document Library for sample resumes and cover letters, and register for GCMC events.

To activate your MASONlink account, contact Colleen Lynch at 757-221-7887 or email her at colleen.lynch@mason.wm.edu.

Through MASONlink, the GCMC provides access to several career development tools and resources, including MBA-Exchange, CaseQuestions.com, GoingGlobal and others, all of which are designed to make you more competitive in today's job market.
