Steven Peterson is a section leader for William & Mary’s Online MBA program. Previously, he was an economics professor at Virginia Commonwealth University and continued to teach graduate courses in the school of business until 2014. Since then, he has been a visiting professor of economics at the University of Virginia.

Steven is currently the Director of Research for Investments at the Virginia Retirement System (VRS). He also served as the Managing Director of Investments where he was responsible for the basic and applied research support for the investment group including risk analysis, econometrics, mathematics and statistics, and forecasting. He has consulted for Ford Motor Company, Land America, Crestar Investment Bank, SunTrust Bank and several Virginia state organizations including the Department of Social Services, Department of Corrections and the Center for Urban Development/Center for Public Policy.

His research has appeared in numerous financial, economic and international focused journals. His book‚ “Investment Theory and Risk Management,” was published in 2012.
