Liz Matthiesen-Jones is a section leader for William & Mary's Online MS in Marketing program. She has more than 30 years of professional experience in international marketing and advertising, specializing in strategic planning, market research, data analysis and intercultural communications. Her work for global advertising agencies has taken her to countries in Europe, Asia and across North America.

Liz has served a wide range of clients including global package goods leaders such as Procter & Gamble and General Foods. Her technology sector experience includes working on the launches of Apple in China and India, Xerox in Canada, as well as in the video gaming industry for Electronic Arts. Her time in the hospitality/leisure industry has taken her across Asia for Hilton International and Mobil 1 Racing, as well as across the United States for Native American casinos and other tribal economic development enterprises. While managing the advertising for the expansion of McDonald's in Hong Kong, Macau and mainland China, she was part of the team that managed the opening of the first McDonald's in Beijing.

In addition to her business career, Liz has taught market analytics, global communications, consumer behavior, advertising and marketing at the undergraduate and graduate levels for more than 20 years. She brings her on-the-ground global experiences to the classroom with a focus on practical applications of market analysis tools and techniques to develop comprehensive and realistic strategic marketing plans.
